CBS results good due to Basketball. The real opportunity is making CBS Anytime work! CBS expects 4 million subs by year’s end. Growth to 4 million would beat NFLX’s freshman streaming year in 2009. NFLX added about 1.2 million subs in 2009 which were probably attributed to its nascent streaming AP.
Do the math $4.99 to $9.99 per North American Sub sure beats $2 they get from re-transmission and reverse affiliate fees. About 20% of America watches at least 1 hour of CBS content a week 52 weeks a year. That is a beast if they can monetize via APTV better.
